helloslide.com

The last session of day three was looking at helloslide.com. We had a couple of problems finding a suitable PDF so the outcome is not great! You can only use PDF to upload. You can create your own PDF's in the later versions of Words and use the 'Save as' function. If you create your own PDF's you need to make sure the page is set up as landscape. Each page in the PDF document acts as a slide in a presentation and you can add audio by typing words.

hot and spicynodes.org

This afternoon, we have been using Spicynodes.org. This is a tools to help brainstorm activities. It is not a collaborative tool and only one user can add information. But videos and images can be added. Here is one I completed on Parks around Europe. Session: spicynodes learning activities: create a brainstorm.

Satisfaction.com

The next part of the second session was looking at Satisfaction. If you click on 'Picture Generator', you can change your pictures into flashy looking frames, 3D cubes and jigsaws. I have made a jigsaw of a Terry Border pictures. This might come in handy for my class next year. Have a go see if you can complete it!

Photo Puzzle Maker

Dvolver

Day 3 is here! The first session was a discussion about working collaboratively and sharing our previous projects and experiences. After the break the second session was looking at dvolver, which is a cartoon movie maker. It is very simple to use and the output is creating up to 3 scenes between two characters. This program is basic and does not include a lot of flexibility - all the backgrounds and characters are set so cannot upload your own and the music is a little cheesy. Myinspiration on what to create a video about was running dry today -so I repeating the idea of our experiences of the BANG BANG coffee shop.

Glogster edu

This afternoon we have been looking at Glogster. It helps you to create GLOGS - online multimedia posters, with text, photos, videos, sounds, drawings and data attachments. Below is an unfinished piece of work using glogster. Again it is based on Terry Border. The computers is Krakow seem to be running slow so it took a lot of patience to get this far! Hopefully there will be some time to finish it. Session6: Learning Outcome - create a GLOG

Changing pictures

We finished the second day using SUPERLAME. It allows people to very quickly change and adapt pictures, by adding speech bubbles, borders. My class next year are named after the artist Terry Border. Here I have adapted one of his works.
Session 5: learning outcome -to create a picture on superlame

Padlet

We have been looking at a tool called padlet, which allows people to post their thought on a common topic. I have created a wall for people to post something nice or positive. Why don't you add to it? Session 5: padlet- learning outcome: create and share padlets.

Using Pixton

Today we have been creating comics using Pixton. It was very simple to use and had great choice of background and characters. You can also add props and change expressions and positions of the characters. Session 4: Pixton. Learning Outcome - to create a comic strip from scratch.

Our last session of the first day, was again looking at blogging. We looked and how to invite participants, commenting and sharing blogs. We also got given the task to embed a video. I decide to embed the following video - the Polish National Anthem. Session 3: Blogging. Learning outcome- embed a video, invite and comments on blogs.

Prezi using templates

In the afternoon, we began to use Prezi to create presentations. Prezi is a really good software package and can really make your presentation stand out. In this session, we create a presentation using templates. We also had time to begin to explore the capabilites of starting a presentation from scratch. I am currently working on a Krakow city guide -but this is still unfinished and not ready for my Web 2.0 blog! Session 2: Prezi - learning outcome - a presentation using templates.

The Grassy Park

A top tip for those travelling to Krakow, from one of our course participants Matthew. To get anywhere find the 'Grassy Park' and then carry on.

What Matthew didn't realise was the 'Grassy Park' circles the whole of the Old Town. Finding the Grassy park and then carry on - may not always be the best direction. In honour of Matthew - I present Park Life by Blur.

Session 1: Blogging. Learning outcome- insert a video from youtube

Lost in Krakow

Welcome to my blog! It aims to document my learning from the conference Web 2.0 Tools For Effective Teaching and Project Work being held in Krakow 28th July to 3rd August 2013.

Our first task was to start this blog and insert a picture. I really like the film Despicable Me and they even have a minion named after me. I chose to insert this picture as it demonstrate how I feel when I am trying to say anything in Polish. Alarm bells ringing!!!

Session 1: Blogging. Learning outcome-created a blog and inserts and picture.
